Today on the Cooking In Sanity project I made Queen of Sheba (chocolate almond) cake. This was Julia Child’s favorite cake recipe – and I can see why! Here’s how I made it:
Part I
Part II
The cake was very simple to make, although it didn’t look like a traditional cake after baking. It was shorter and more dense than a traditional cake you might think of, but it was still delicious! I’m not a huge fan of almond flavor, but the cake had the perfect balance of chocolate and almond. This would be a great, simple cake for a party or a birthday.
The full recipe can be found in Mastering the Art of French Cooking (2 Volume Set)
. I think every good cook deserves to have a copy of Julia Child’s masterpiece in their kitchen.
Thanks for watching and I’ll see you next time!
