Go Green with Banana Bash Shake

Happy St. Patty’s Day, Everyone!

Most people celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by dressing green, but how about eating green? I have a super yummy recipe for a smoothie that is both festive and delicious! It has an interesting ingredient that naturally turns it green.

INGREDIENTS:
1 ripe avocado, use green flesh, discard skin and pit and any brown parts
1 large banana, remove peel and break into 3 or 4 pieces
10 oz milk (or use non-dairy milk: almond or soy)
2 tablespoon raw organic sugar or honey (a touch of honey accents the flavor of the fruit, like salt accents flavors of savory foods)
For an extra thick shake, add 1/2 cup crushed ice

1. Using a blender or food processor, blend all ingredients together until creamy.

2. Pour in a glass, garnish with a straw, and drink up!

Yields: 2 servings

My dad helped demonstrate how to slice and remove the pit of an avocado:

Step 1 - Slice

Step 2 - Twist

Step 3 - Pit

Step 4 - Enjoy!

This smoothie is perfect for breakfast or a snack. It’s filling, refreshing, and easy to make! So while everyone else is dressing up like a leprechaun, you’ll be relaxing, sipping on your Banana Bash Smoothie.

  4. Avocado with banana is simply delicious. Tried it out before and I loved it. But now I'm more into food delivery since I don't have time to cook.
